Basically, what happened is Eddie Vedder grew up without a dad in a Dumpster behind Safeway so he started writing songs to make everyone else in the whole world just as miserable as he is (or so we imagine) -- and guess what? Success. This double-CD set documents 12 years' worth of one-word, one-dimensional songs like "Alive," "Daughter" and "Dissident."
